Homemade Remedies for Covering Gray Hair
For many people, gray hair is an aggravating part of life. While there are plenty of options to choose from, when working to cover the gray, most contain harsh chemicals that leave hair damaged, dry and brittle. So, what’s a person to do … go gray gracefully? No! There are homemade, natural remedies that not only cover gray hair, but also, leave hair in better condition than it was before.
The first thing to keep in mind – when using natural products to cover gray hair – is that it is a gradual process. This means it may need to be done on a weekly, or daily, basis before you begin to see results. But – once you have reached your desired color – you can usually scale back to monthly touchups. Now, on to those gray covering recipes.
1. Boil potato peels in water. Next, strain the concoction and let it cool. Use the cooled liquid to rinse your hair, after you have shampooed.
2. This next recipe will take several weeks to show it’s results, but the effort will be well worth it. Simmer ½ cup of dried sage in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes. Let it seep for a minimum of 3 hours or a maximum of 24. Strain and pour over clean hair. Leave on until your hair is dry and then rinse it out.
3. Mix 1 oz rosemary and 1 oz sage. Simmer for 30 minutes and strain. Message into gray hair and then rinse out.
These recipes are also great for restoring that youth enhancing, natural shine to your hair. Growing old is a natural part of life. But, that doesn’t mean we have to give in and accept the fact that there is nothing to be done to restore our youthful looks. Covering that age enhancing gray doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the health of your hair. Try these homemade recipes, and nourish your hair, while you color it naturally.
